Why Do Parents Use Methamphetamine?

The new problem in our society today is people becoming more and more addicted to drugs, especially to the drug Methamphetamine. It was first made in 1887 in Germany and a more potent way was developed in Japan in 1919, which started off as a way to keep troops awake. The United Nations Office said that methamphetamine has 24.7 million abusers around, so we can only imagine who around us could be doing it and we not even know it. I unfortunately have been around people using this drug and I honestly could not tell they were using, there are the ones that tell on their selves. How scary is that? Just to think that kids that young are going out and trying meth or being influence like this, is very sad. In 2007 it is known that 4.5% of 12th graders and 4.1% of 10th graders reported using meth once in their lives all ready and some of them have continued to use. What do you think as parents could we do better to stop this from continuing on? In Southeast Asia, the most common use of methamphetamine came in a small pill called ‘”Yaba” in Thailand and “Shabu” in the Philippines. But here in the United States people use it in all forms, such as crystals, crushing them into power and snorting it, creating a liquid to shoot in their veins, and also putting it in a pipe to smoke. A few reason why young people have chosen to take the drug; “to fit in”, “to escape or relax”, “to relive boredom”, “to seem grown up”, “to rebel” and “to experiment”. It is so sad to think kids feel they have to take drugs to fit in or to feel liked. I wish there were more programs around for kids to get involved in that connect with all kids
