Why I Want To Attend College

I want to study at a school that is near and dear to not only me, but also my parents. It has been my parents dream for their children to go to college. My parents came here, to the U.S., for a better life than the one they had back in Pakistan. Ever since they came to Virginia, they have been struggling to live a beneficial, safe, and stable life and my goal and reason for attending a college is to further my education and find a good job so I can provide my parents the life they had desired and aspired ever since coming here. My parents have four children; Sana, Haris, Saba, and me, Rashed. All my siblings before me have all graduated high school, but they haven’t attended a university yet, which my parents truly wanted us to do. They attend NOVA and hopefully they will also attend this college in the future, but right now the weight of my parents dream is on me and I don’t want to let them down. …show more content…
My parents have loved Virginia, especially Northern Virginia and when we visited George Mason University, they fell in love with it and more importantly I fell in love with it. I set this college as my goal, as my only option because I want to make my parents happy but also because I really loved the campus. Another reason for me to go to college, this college specifically, is that I am close to my parents and I can take care of my parents while accomplishing their dreams along with mine. My goals and dreams are based around my parents, since they have done so much for my siblings and I, I have to repay them with accomplishing their goals in coming to America. They have struggled so much to give us food on the table, live in our own house, and keep us healthy.
