Why I Want To Be A Dietitian

I have many unique and outstanding qualities that I will contribute to becoming a dietitian in the United States Air Force. I am an undergraduate student at Baylor University and a part of AFROTC. I am also helping my mom raise my little sister back home who is eleven years old. Some additional qualities of mine include, I am a very fast learner and self-taught to play four musical instruments. Discipline was barely taught to me due to it being a part of who I am and my interest. I have a set sleeping and eating schedule to stay on top of my physical fitness. Any assignment that is given to me, I start it that day. I also like to make people laugh. I help my nana and papa on their land in my free time by taking care of the animals, watering plants, gardening and construction. Doing this also allowed for me to learn to ride horses. I became so passionate about nutrition over that summer because of my weight getting heavy due to removing myself from participating in all my activities I used to do in grade school. Another factor that motivated me was how my cousin looked being overweight, and I refused to let myself get to that level. The third factor that motivated me to choose the dietitian track was how my mom ate, and how she had me eat growing up.
This career attracts me because I have experienced the wonderful results of eating healthy, cooking great food and receiving nice comments from others on how great I look. What I expect to get out of this career is to help others achieve these wonderful results, as well as improve the lives of our soldiers in the military to keep us the best in the world. The classes I have been taking at Baylor have lead me to believe that this career field is still meant for me. I get super engaged in my human physiology class as well as my experimental foods class where we can eat our
