Hammurabi’s Code Hammurabi’s code was a code of rules to protect the undefended and weak, but they were unfair. In 1754 BCE, he was sworn to be the chosen king by Shamash and was ordered to protect the innocent people from the evil. Although these rules defended the harmless the rule breakers had a very brutal punishment ahead of them. “If a Nun was caught drinking alcohol she will be set on fire”.
