Although the fight for women’s rights began with the start of the Suffrage Movement in 1848, the fight continues today. There is no doubt that women’s rights have evolved. In the early days, women campaigned for the right to vote over several years, holding conventions and picketing. When the right was afforded to women, the movement continued, but the shift became equality, such as fairer wages and the elimination of discrimination in the workplace. Today, the primary focus of women’s rights is reproductive rights and sexual harassment. President Trump has been vocal about his plan to defund Planned Parenthood and overturn the ruling in Roe v.
