The piece that the audience will see is called “You Should’ve Listen” and it tells a story about refusing to love family and relationships. The background behind the story is, I am a mother and a wife. In the beginning, as a family we were very close until my son, who is Larell, begins to grow up and his father becomes sick. Within time being passed, Larell’s father has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and it took a shock for him and myself. A couple months later, my husband died. That was a sad day for the both of us, and the bond between father and son was broken. And the lost of someone I’ve been married too was overbearing but I knew I wasn’t alone. She only wanted him to have someone to love her because she was having self doubt with love. Which lead her to go through the pain because she felt that he loved her. After all the abuses she went through, she managed to still love him but is finding ways to get away from. As the mother, I realize what my son is doing and I began to help the girlfriend. We became to a decision to help each other to get through the pain. Repeatedly, trying to help my son to manhood to the best of the mother abilities as possible. It’s challenging, and harder on my part to being playing this part as a mother and witness their child in pain and dealing with lost and confusion. Lastly, after enough was enough a huge fight breaks out between my son and his girlfriend which happened to have me involved. This fight became a riot, everyone is hurt and minds are all confused. This girlfriend has had enough dealing with the pain and suffering, so she ends up leaving him and comes to her own realization that she doesn’t need anyone to make her feel loved and welcomed.
