The 14th amendment states that people should be treated equally, not that they should be treated the same. The 14th amendment guarantees equal rights and opportunities for people to secure their jobs and future safety. That means they should be given what they need to lead a successful life. This could range from giving them equal access to food or providing them with an educational environment in which they feel safe and comfortable. The students don’t need to attend the same school to be treated equally. All they need is a positive school environment in which they can learn equally as much as others. If schools integrated, they still won’t be equal. There will still be a great amount of discrimination against colored people as a result of
