In life, people can obtain seven habits to be more effective, and within those seven habits all comes the task of listening. The first habit someone can do to be more effective is to be proactive. Being proactive involves you not making up excuses and blaming outside factors on why you are not successful. The proactive stage of your life will start when you begin to listen to your inner self. Your inner self will let you know that there are certain things that you can and cannot control. The things that you do have control over is what you have the power to change. I would say no. This is a combination of the first two habits in terms of listening. You can hear all the options you have and then let your inner self tell you which one is more important to you overall. Another effective habit includes thinking win win. This habit includes being able to see the win in all situations while interacting with others. This is a habit where your ability to listen is put to the test. You must be able to listen and not just hear what others are saying. Listening involves an understanding of an idea that another person is trying to convey. This involves a level of engaged listen where after the person is done speaking you can be able to recite the message in your own words. Another effective habit includes seeking first to understand then be understood. While others are speaking we filter out what we want to hear and develop responses in our head before they can finish. This is a horrible trait in listening called selective hearing. While it may be hard we should give the speaker our undivided attention so that we can fully understand what their message. The next habit that makes someone more effective is
