Many african americans have ancestor that were slaves, and also many african americans have a natural reaction when they are called a slave name. Such as Nigger, Porch Monkey, Coon, and Bootlip. The sad part is this all started because of a european nation not wanting to work hard labor, so they invade a whole country to force a whole race to do work for them. At its extreamly center, was a brutal and harsh organization. From the thought behind it to the way that it was authorized, it forced people to think of themselves as animals and disallowed the essential freedoms that each man is granted. Africans lived in urban communities and residential areas. Some were rich and some were poor, and there was always a time where they were at peace with each other and others when they were at war with one another. But one thing that west africans needed was goods such as cloth, iron, and coope. They could make these things themselves, but it wouldn't be as strong . So what people like the portuguese and europeans did at first was say they would give them africans guns for gold, but the portuguese pope said no because it was making them powerful. So what the europeans started doing was giving goods in exchange for slaves which africans had a lot of indentured slaves. Africa may have provided the human work that was vital to these advancements in Europe, yet it didn't profit by them itself. It lost a huge number of people. Boats would leave Western Europe for Africa stacked with merchandise which was to be traded for slaves. When the boats from europe arrived in Africa they would trade what they had for captured slaves. Weapons were bought the most, but textiles, pearls and other fabricated merchandise, and rum were the high demand.One thing we don't want to forget about is Africans aided in the capture of their own people for wealth because Europeans could not do it all alone.
