Albert Einstein, one of the world’s greatest scientists, once said “Never do anything against conscience, even if that state demands it.” Our state of Illinois, along with every other state, demands citizens to be vaccinated throughout their lives. Most of these states do not allow exemptions of philosophical or moral reasoning of a person’s conscience. However, this government enforcement of vaccinations violates our civil liberties. Being vaccinated should be a personal choice for individuals and their children. Today, many states require many vaccinations for different reasons. Any person should be able to choose if they want all vaccinations, some vaccinations, or no vaccinations at all. To make this choice, everyone should educate themselves on vaccines and therefore have the power to form their own opinions and choices. Along with this, doctors should truly educate and inform patients on vaccines rather than pressure or threaten them, and the general society should not shame or humiliate those who make an educated decision on their own medical
