George Herman Ruth Jr. was a major league baseball player, and his whole career lasted from the year 1914-1935, which is 22 seasons. He played on 4 different teams. The first team he played on was the Baltimore Orioles for a short time. His second major league baseball team he played for was the Boston Red Sox from the year 1914-1919. Next he played on the New York Yankees starting in the year 1920 then ending in 1934. After he was done playing for the Yankees his number 3 jersey he wore proudly was retired. He then finished his career on the Boston Braves in 1935. Babe Ruth’s main positions were outfielder and pitcher. The reason why he was so famous was because of his many long home runs and superb pitching. Also because he was one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Babe Ruth was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 6, 1895. His parents’ names were George Sr. and Kate. He had eight siblings, including him. For example, he did nonstop drills on hitting, fielding, and pitching. He then became so good, that his friend made a request for a person by the name of Jack Dunn, owner of the Baltimore Orioles. Jack Dunn watched him for only an hour and he was offered to sign a contract to play for the Baltimore Orioles. But he was only 19 when he was offered to sign the contract.
