When the United States of America entered the nineties, President William H. T. Bush was in office. President Bush was the 42nd president of the United States and he took office in 1989 and ended his presidency in 1993. In 1990, President Bush reversed his campaign pledge "Read My Lips, No New Taxes" by agreeing to raise taxes in order to lower the federal deficit. This act was passed to keep the world safe because it made gun business produce a background check on anyone wanting to produce a gun at the time. In 1975, United States placed a trade embargo with Vietnam, but in 1994 Clinton decided to lift the embargo. In 1996, Clinton was reelected to serve his second term. Only two years later, Clinton was accused to having an affair Monica Lewinsky but he denied it at first. In 1998, there was talk of Clinton being impeached would have made him only the second president to be impeached behind Andrew Johnson. Although Clinton and Johnson were not technically fully impeached by both houses but for both cases the House of Representatives impeached the two. The senate read the articles of impeachment for both Clinton and Johnson and dedicided that they should be acquitted because there was not enough evidence there to decide that they were guilty.
