Although Columbus has done the unimaginable throughout history, he has maintained good intentions, but produced bad effects because of them. I believe that Columbus should be both celebrated and mourned. Columbus had done a lot of good things within his period of life that caused good outcomes. Without Columbus, the Columbian exchange would have never occurred, the promotion of exploration would have never been endured, nor could the increase in conversion of religion have happened. But on the other hand, the Columbian exchange did transport disease, which had caused an unintentional decimation, alongside the conquering and enslaving of individuals. What is meant by this is that, when Christopher Columbus had first begun his exposition of his voyage, he ventured out into the ocean with a positive state of mind thinking that he would only create good out of his journey. But with certain actions that he took throughout his adventure of the New World, is that what was really generated? Due to the occurrence of the Columbian exchange that was brought upon by Christopher Columbus himself, it also brought along disease. Although many good things were exchanged from the Old World to the New World, the diseases had to be the worst. Diseases within this time period of the Columbian exchange had been transported from the Europeans to Native Americans, and the same goes conversely. Diseases that had decimated the Native American population were comprised of smallpox, measles, and the influenza. Other diseases of this time were also alcoholism, which had took a terrible toll. Christopher Columbus had also conquered and enslaved people such as the Native Americans. Christopher Columbus had ended up transporting/bringing back thousands of the Native Americans from his journey and/or adventure back to the area of Spain, only to live their lives as being the use of
