Throughout my clinical courses I have encountered experiences that will assist me in my transition and development from a student to a Clinical Nurse Leader. As I reflect on my personal progression and unique journey, it is evident that I am on the right path to a successful career. I have identified my weaknesses and strengths in association with the CNL certification exam content and have planned and implemented strategies to strengthening myself in identified areas of need. During the beginning of this course I identified that my weaknesses were in healthcare policy, healthcare systems/organizations, quality improvement and safety, healthcare fiancé and health informatics which are categories in the clinical outcomes management and care environment exam content areas. Due to time constraints and having to alter my EBP project I choose to focus my studies on these areas since they were areas of weakness. I reread the White Paper on the Education of the Role of CNL so I could more understand the role and how these exam content areas related to the role. I additional expertise from my preceptor who is a graduate of the Sacred Heart University MSN-CNL program and who is a current certified CNL. The only step I have left to take is the complete review course, which I unfortunately will be delaying until after I am done with my EBP project, which at this time is my number one priority. The review course will solidify my knowledge and piece everything I have learned thus far
