Concentration camps and extermination camps were both big ideas during World War 2. Concentration camps were used to contain prisoners in a single place while extermination camps were used to kill Jews on the spot. People placed in these concentration camps usually spend months or years in them, with the few exceptions of the ones that get out in a few days. These places were extremely poor and the people experienced brutal treatment, torture, and even humiliation. They were also subjected to forced labor. It was roughly hours of work and most of the time they were forced to work until they died. About 1 million people died in concentration camps. People in extermination camps were people that would be killed, no matter what. Not everyone died
