Core competency seven states that social workers should apply knowledge of human behavior in the social environment. I think that this competency requires that social workers critically think about how a client’s behavior is impacted by their environment. This core competency is associated with a practice behavior that I will be linking to an artifact. The practice behavior is differentially applying theories and frameworks of human behavior and the environment, recognizing underlying assumptions, values, strengths, and weaknesses of these theories.
