"Even Dallas Winston has a breaking point." were the words of his friends before Dallas (Dally for short) was killed under a street light. Dally was known for being a criminal, always stealing something and getting into lots of fights. Before he died he hadn't committed any crimes for at least a week. Instead, he saved kids and his friend Johnny from a burning church. With Dallas dying knowing his saved someone he didn't even know, this makes him a hero.
Before his death, Dally saved people, including his friends, from a burning church house. Dally is mostly known for committing crimes like theft, drunk driving, and getting into rumbles (fights). Instead of leaving them to die, Dally risked his life for them. He didn't just stand there and watch them perish, he took action. He saved his friend Johnny from dying in that church house; he saved kids he didn't even know from dying in that church. In people's eyes, that would be the action of a hero.
A hero to most people is someone who risks their life and well-being for someone else. A hero is someone that doesn't think but takes action right away. They don't care how it ends, if they die, they only care about saving people. Crooks came into town and were going to steal Lauren's claim so Walt goes down to a town and saves the day. That would be a rough summary of the story. Now Walt didn't just sit there and watch the crooks steal Lauren's claim. Even though his father told him to protect it, Walt didn't have to listen to him. Walt chooses to listen to his father. Walt chooses to take action, to save Lauren's claim. Like Walt, Dally chooses to take action. Each of these characters chooses to take action and save something
