In Part 1 of Big Fish, we learn about Edward Bloom, who the main character. We find out that he is no ordinary person. In Daniel Wallace's book it states, “But perhaps his most formidable task was facing Karl, the Giant, for in doing so he was risking his very life” (pg 29). This is mythical because one, we know giants aren't real, and two, you can’t actually tame a giant. In this chapter, the author does not include a trait that is written but we can infer Edward is brave since he yelled at Karl saying “Show yourself! I know you are in there.
