About 2.7% of America is considered homeless today because they don’t have permanent night time residences. People think that the homeless are homeless because they don't work. But really they do, the work very hard. Sometimes even two jobs at once. Some parents don't even get to spend time with their families, that's how many hours they are working. Serfs from Medieval Europe weren’t homeless they had tiny homes with a fireplace, pots, and the home only had one room ever so often two. They also had food to eat without having to search for it almost daily, the homeless had to search for their food, almost everyday. Serfs had a “pantry” of food, the homeless had to search for their food almost daily. The serfs didn’t have donations they had their own “new” clothes. Overall surfs had better living conditions because they had better quality clothes and more food to eat.

The male serfs wore a wool tunics, that is a dress like thing with a belt to hold it together. Basically it was a man wearing a robe and some shoes. The women wore a loose blouse and a dress on top. That’s a loose shirt and a skirt. Both the men and the women wore leather shoes. For the homeless they often were all donations. Usually they donations were ripped up, or too thin for the winter months (doc D). Then the people would freeze if they lived in a cold area. Serfs had better quality clothes, they didn’t get them ripped or too worn out.
