Atticus is a very courageous man. Throughout To Kill A Mockingbird, he is always doing things that take a huge amount of courage and he just does it as if it is nothing. Atticus Finch is a lawyer and a widower. He has two young children, Jem and Scout, he is also currently defending Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman.
The first and most noticeable part where he is courageous is when he took on the Robinson case. “ It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through” (pg.112). When Atticus took one the case he knew he wouldn't win but he did it anyway still trying to save an innocent man. Atticus shows a huge amount of courage when Bob Ewell spat in his face and he did nothing.
