The family that has experienced boundary ambiguity is a mother and father whose sons have both joined the military. Their adolescent left home and now there is a feeling of loss of a dependent child. However; these parents have now gained a dependent young adult. The feeling of change these parents felt is a sense of loss. Their family will never go back to the way it was.
