Traits that truly define people are shown in moments of dedication and action. Odysseus’ many traits allowed him to persevere over the many hardships in The Odyssey. While each of his traits were unique, each one can be acquired through dedication and work. Perseverance is a common trait that Odysseus and I both share.
My perseverance was shown during this summer for water polo camp. Each player was given a swim set with certain times to make; failure resulted in the player stopping until the last person either finished or gave up. Slowly, players gave up and started to miss their set times, which forced them to stop swimming completely. Soon I was the only person left making my set times, and the coach prompted me to either give up like everybody
