Love means the world to some people. You may say you love your family. What if you family doesn’t approve of who you love? Making a decision between love and family is a tough decision. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare Juliet and Romeo must face this decision. They decided their love for each other means more than their families hating each other. This is shown in the theme love over family. Does a label or a name change the way you think about something. Juliet believes that family names are just a name. Shakespeare shows this in Act II by having Juliet say, “That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”(Shakespeare 972).
