There life didn’t just start in a gang it started when they where in high school because this is the time for some individuals their life takes a sickening turn and the number one cause of an individual being enrolled in a gang is money. Money is what they want and need and also want to give to their parents because growing up they might’ve had money problems so they decide to find a way to help their family in finical aid. It could also be of family problems and they just want to leave their family and go on a life of their own and in a gang they give you 2 things, money, and respect those are the 2 main things they want because to them that is the most important part of their life. They already dropped out of education and they disliked education while they were grouping, they didn’t want to wait to make money they wanted to make tons of money right away and they are not afraid of the hard time they will have to spend in jail. The life in a gang is very difficult to understand, we see gang life as a horrible act and our parents never wanted us to be apart of gangs or drugs, and we don’t want our kids in the future to be apart of gangs. In a past article “From your first cigarette to your last dyin’ day” by David Pyrooz he writes about how an individual goes from there first drug to there last day on this earth. The people who individuals interact with are the people who are going to get them in the gang life and at the end of the day make them pay the ultimate price. “Others initiate first gang membership in their adolescent and into their adulthood due to an absence of legitimate opportunities” (David Pyrooz October 2, 2013 Pg. 353. J Quant Criminal (2014) 30:349-372). To get access into a gang an individual goes through a big process same thing as a interview to decide if they can trust them.
