Same-sex couples can make a good based family; because it is just a way to make official a common union nowadays, even with the religious issue. It is not related to polygamy; and because love matters and it does not change the fact the sex of its object or the person who experiences it. The first reason about why same sex marriage should be legal is because a same sex couple can really be a strong family unit. It is showed that a same-sex family can be just as loving and supportive as any other family. People against a gay couple family says its not good for children to be raised in that kind of enviroment and they believe gay parents will raise gay children because straight parents just raise straight children. Yet it is not true because human sexual choice isnt a choice and you can't change that. Studies have shown children living in a same-sex home are higher socially and academically with fewer social problems and agressiveness. The children end up being more open minded and accepting of all things different. Homosexuality is not made, forced, or even "recruited" its just who someone is. Another reason is also because marriaga is supposed to be about procreating and you cant do that in a same-sex relationship. On the other hand, the amount of couples who are infertile or chooses to not have children have increased. Homosexual couples are having a positive affect on society because they are giving kids, who have no family or someone to love them, a loving home. Another reason same-sex marriage should be legal is because it is fair for all individuals to have the same rights in society. People should be allowed to love whoever they want no matter the gender. By states outlawing same-sex marriage they are going against the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration clearly states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".Meaning everyone should be equal and have a chance at happiness. No matter how someone feel about the reasoning of the decision, its results is clear: homosexuals are not different from the rest.
