I. Dentistry has changed a lot over the years in so many ways, thanks to all the new technology we now have today. Mainly with the new instruments we now have and medications which is very necessary . Also here is something interesting about dentistry , did you know Women smile about 62 times a day compared to men who smile 8 times a day on average!
A. Just imagine you having a dentist appointment that’s coming up and you not only have to get just a simple cleaning and check-up done but you have to have a cavity filled or even get a tooth pulled ! just think about how painful that could be if you weren’t able to get numb for it . also think about the instruments (tools) that they are going to use for the procedure you would want them clean right ? well years ago they didn’t have sterilization machines like we have now so they would pretty much just rinse them off maybe scrub and that’s it !! things are much better today. We now have the technology and better equipment for this kind of stuff, which makes things easier and much more easier for the patient.
B. About 50 years ago Dentist never gave the patient anything to get numb , which means you felt everything. Not good for the patient at all , not really good for the dentist either. Procedures were done a lot differently than now.
II. Today we now have different types of Novocain to use on a patient which is what gets the patient numb and makes it so the patient doesn’t feel anything while I procedure is being done. That’s one thing that’s different from years ago but another good example of how a lot has changed in dentistry is In the old days when dentures weren’t invented yet, dentists would do a quick surgery in implanting teeth in the mouth a person, by obtaining the teeth from a dead persons mouth. Today what would
