Thousands of children and adults from the East to the West Coast have read or watched at least one of the Harry Potter books or movies. The Harry Potter series is composed of seven books and eight films. The books are all written by J.K Rowling and the movies are directed by four different people. Chris Columbus who directed movies 1 through 2, Alfonso Cuarón ran 3, Mike Newell controlled 4, and David Yates sat in the driver’s seat for movies 5 through 8. In the wizarding world of Harry Potter there are magical creatures, stunts, and people.
Perhaps one of the most magical creatures is Buckbeak, the care of magical creatures professor Hagrid’s, Hippogriff. Along with being one of the most magical creatures, Buckbeak is also one of the few animatronics, but only in non walking or flying scenes. To do this, the animators and technicians had to create three models of the horse/eagle, one standing used for foreground shots, another for background shots, and the third was for sitting in Hagrid’s pumpkin patch.
