Time Changes the Stoutest of Hearts In Jane Austen’s novel, Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet is confronted with a man named Darcy, whom she believes is extraordinarily prideful due to his standing in society. Even though Darcy is prejudiced toward the lower class he finds himself falling for the young Ms. Bennet. Darcy asks Elizabeth to marry him, but she declines asserting she would never consider the notion of marrying one so prideful in all his actions. As time flows on however, Elizabeth gains knowledge into the reasons and intentions behind Mr. Darcy’s actions. The more Elizabeth discovers, the deeper her feelings become for him. Eventually the true heart behind Mr. Darcy’s pride is revealed and the feeling of love overtakes Elizabeth’s every previous thought cementing her to change for the better.
