The ISIS in Syria was formed in April of 2013 and led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. ISIS is a group formed by many victims to get back at the government and stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. It first grew out of the city al-Queda, Iraq in 2011 due to an incident involving a dozen young children getting arrested. The children wrote graffiti on the outside of their school walls saying, “the people want to topple the regime”, meaning that the people want to get rid of or defeat the government. Shortly after, Syrians began to protest and demand that the government let political protestors go. However, the government did not like the protesting so they fired shots and killed many people. There were more than 300,000 people killed and 10.6 million people forced out of their homes. “It’s exploded into the biggest humanitarian crisis since the Second World War” (“Syria’s War: How Did We Get Here?”). That was only the beginning of the deadly war between government forces and jihadist groups. Since the beginning of the fight, ISIS has been able to overrule many cities in Syria and Iraq. troops over into Syria is a good idea. The troops are highly trained, well prepared and very intelligent. The purpose for them to go over there is to help out the forces in hoping in an end to the war that has been going on for many years. The troops are not physically fighting against ISIS; therefore they are not really putting themselves in a dangerous field to get killed. Assisting the forces who are fighting against ISIS could consist of giving them pointers on how to approach ISIS, supply forces with special equipment that they don't already have, train the forces in the field and help with any kind of situation or problem they run into. I think that this could potentially help the whole country of Syria and Iraq tremendously, so that is why I agree with putting U.S. troops on the ground in northern
