. Consequences for actions depend upon the situation and on what is the nature of the violation. Risk assessment would be key, the higher the risk that a probationer presents to the public or to themselves the more stringent the consequences must be. The consequences must fit the action To deter the juvenile from violating the terms and conditions of probation I would ensure that the juvenile in question understands that violation of the rules would only result in the loss of more personal freedoms at best, and at worst could result in their detention. Progressive consequences could be used for infractions/ violations such as driving privileges, associations, curfews, phone suspensions, behavioral counseling, or substance abuse
