Did you know that the 56 steps on the Lincoln Memorial represent the age that Lincoln died at? Abraham Lincoln was the 16th U.S president, and he was assassinated at the age of 56. The Lincoln memorial stands at the west end of the National mall for Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Memorial was built in 1922, May 30th. The Lincoln memorial was carved by the Piccirilli brothers, and watched by the sculptor Daniel Chester French. Furthermore,It took four years to complete the whole statue. The Lincoln memorial is a very important part in history and is very interesting. The Lincoln memorial is located in Washington D.C, and is by the National mall. Also, the Lincoln memorial was made out of Georgia Marble, and white stone. It is 19 ft, and weighs 175 tons. The memorial has 36 columns and is modeled after the Ancient Greeces. This majority of the monument is actually under ground. The statue took four years to complete, and it was only meant to be ten feet. The Lincoln memorial is a very unique and interesting monument and different. Did you know that Abraham Lincoln memorial was dedicated fifty-seven years after Lincoln’s death.
