The addition of the new lunch menu is beneficial for the health and well being of the students. Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains are much healthier choices for students when the contrary is fatty and sugary foods. The change would positively impact students by allowing for healthy choices to be available, causing a ripple effect on the lives of students by changing their other food choices, and a healthy lunch menu reflects well on the school. Healthy food, such as fruits and vegetables, are much better for a person's body. A problem that has just come up in the country today is the discovery of the negative effects of processed meats and other foods. A study has shown that eating processed meats leads to an increase chance of developing cancer. Stopping the chances of children getting heart disease and cancer now dramatically change their lives for the better. By giving the students access to healthier foods, they can make other healthy decisions for their lives. Many young people in the country right now are struggling with obesity. Americans are some of the most overweight people on the planet. When a child grows up eating fatty, sugary, processed foods, they know nothing better and are drawn to those foods. Right now, many young people in our school have no access to fruits, vegetables, or whole grains. Giving them access to these foods is better than doing nothing at all. Just imagine a kid who has no access to bettering their life. But, one day, they walk into school and see the cafeteria stocked with quality produce and lean meats will incentivize them to try the food out.
