My Experience As A Writer

According to Webster’s Dictionary, an essay is a short piece of writing on a particular subject. This term is also known as the dreaded word all students despise hearing, or at least me. Since teachers have begun using the word, I’ve found it challenging to indulge in or be excited about assignments and often find it difficult to put my ideas on paper. Fortunately, I’m an excellent conversationalist, and know how to interact with other people when speaking directly to them, but if asked to record these thoughts or sentences for an assignment, I instantly obtain an annoying curse often recognized as “writer’s block”. I know what I want to say, but struggle to string my ideas together; therefore my experiences as a writer have not been very pleasant. Often it takes longer than necessary to complete an assignment, although I received high grades on my previous essays, the matter still is quite unenjoyable. Therefore, my objectives for the course include improving my transitions and comma errors, being more imaginative, and not overdoing details in my writing. …show more content…
Misuse of commas is one of my biggest errors in writing, as well as one of the easiest ways to lose points on your grade. From run-ons, comma splices, and sometimes not being able to recognize a situation in which a comma may or may not be needed is a struggle. Similarly, applying correct transition words throughout your essay can make or break the flow of your work. With this in mind, I must improve my knowledge of these important skills and be able to utilize them in my context. When I achieve this goal, my writing will become easier to read and my grade will benefit
