In our world, tests are everywhere. Many different kinds of tests are used for a multitude of applications. Anything from academic progress tracking, to employment probability, and even into overall cognitive capabilities can be tested. Tests are an easy way to standardize results. With multiple choice tests, the tester can have all of the answers that are most ideal for the end result situation, and the tested individual can then be measured based on their results.
A test is defined as a procedure to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something or someone, especially before it is taken into wide spread use. Psychological testing includes assessments that measure achievement, interests/attitudes, mental ability, neuropsychological functioning, and personality (Hogan, 2007). These five categories of psychological testing set the foundation to assess the present functioning of an individual or group.

Personality tests are typically divided into two different classifications; objective personality tests and projective techniques (Hogan, 2007).By using a true false inventory, the objective personality test can generate a score that indicates similarities and differences between the individual and control groups. Objective personality tests include Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), Myers Briggs Personality Test (MBTI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and the Eating Disorder Inventory (EDI) (Hogan, 2007; Personality Pathways, 2012).
