Native American Influence Some people believe that the Native Americans did not contribute to the building of the United States. The Native Americans played a significant role by helping them since the very beginning (Plymouth). The Natives helped them militarily, politically, and culturally. Without the help of the Native Americans in the American Revolution, Britain would have continued to controlled the early colonies and possibly the U.S. The Native Americans helped politically by giving the founding fathers ideas for the constitution. They also helped them live through the harsh winters by teaching the whites farming techniques. In addition, the Natives helped shape the fundamentals of the Americas. Democracy was not founded under the Indians, it was founded in classical Greece and Athens in 6th century B.C.E. It is even hard to think that the Native Americans helped make the constitution because there was a small population of English speakers. The Natives know that what the whites have done has devastated their culture. Their lands were stolen and many of their men kidnapped and brought back Europe. The smallpox disease probably killed their whole family 90% of the Native American population were gone. It is still silly to think after all these things that happened within one century the Natives would help the whites advance and build a nation soon to wipe out their culture. Anyways, Ancient Greece lasted for 900 years. It is generally considered to be the seminal culture which provided the foundation of Western Civilization. The civilization of the ancient Greeks has been immensely influential on the language, politics, educational systems, philosophy, science, and arts, giving rise to the Renaissance in Western Europe and again resurgent during various neo-Classical revivals in 18th and 19th century Europe and the Americas. (http://www.ushistory.org/gov/2.asp). This shows that many of the American laws and politics were influenced by the Greeks due to the renaissance, this renaissance spread throughout Europe. At that time you were forced to believe to the Church of England therefore you have no religious freedom. There is a reason why the people came to the Americas, and they risked their lives for that freedom. The white people had something up in mind when they came, and that was democracy.
