Imperialism is an expanding of a country’s power over foreign countries through military power. There are many reasons why these countries were imperialized. The first reason they were imperialized is because of their natural resources. They used natural resources because they took over many colonies. By doing this it expanded these colonies and they got more natural resources to use them get more money. The second reason they were imperialized is because of the new markets. The new markets caused them to take over different colonies and expanded their trade. The third reason why they were imperialized is because of belief and European superiority. Europe was superior to other countries, and to prove that they conquered as much land as they could. …show more content…
The positives were put in the British perspective. The first positive is reduced local welfare. While there was still wars it was not between the natives tribes, it was actually between the British and natives. So there was just as much or possibly even more bloodshed than there would have been if Britain would have stayed out of Africa. A second positive is a new technology. This is a positive because with new technology like steam -powered riverboats, the Britains had a new way of traveling and this led the British to see many things in new and advanced ways. A third positive that came from imperialism was that the schools/ hospitals improved. This is positive because more children had the chance for better education and the hospitals had a better chance of figuring out many solutions like how to cure new
