This commercial has sitings that it appeals to both pathos, ethos and logos(Everyone’s An AuthorPg. 34). second clip of the commercial the guy runs out in the street to chase down a basketball. As he retrieves the basketball he runs into a marathon run that is just beginning. He stops in the middle of the street and a marathon team runs up to him telling them “we need one more person”. This part of the commercial appeals to pathos because it’s a wide range of people of different races, ethnicities, genders, and body types. This certain part is trying to make people feel like they belong and can identify with the people in the commercial. All of those famous athletes are asking the actor to come join them. This appeals to ethos because the commercial uses famous professional athletes to endorse their products thus giving them credibility that they must be good. Also, then this indirectly appeals to logos because it states that these athletes know for their great athletic achievements must use great products to help them train and improve and that the product that the professionals athletes use is good quality. So the Nike executives are saying that these statements are facts and they the products serve good use to the people wearing and promoting them. In the end of the commercial this scene appeals to pathos as well as the camera goes back to the first scene in the commercial from a higher point of view as you can see that the neighborhood is a low to middle class area as it’s trying to make people from the same type of neighborhood sympathize but also says that people can become great athletes by wearing these Nike products no matter where they come
