The nonfiction novel No Easy day by Mark Owen is a climatic story about a Navy seal and his goal to be the very best he can. When analyzing the text, many noticeable themes were highlighted throughout much of the book. Although there are many eye-popping literary themes, problem and solution, cause and effect and motivation stood out the most. To begin with, Owen used problem and solution for a good duration of the book. When he is in Basic Underwater Demolition, or BUD/S, he took the day one meal at a time. The technique helped him control his anxiety. “It didn’t matter if I couldn’t feel my arms as we hoisted logs over our heads or if the cold surf soaked me to the core. It wasn’t going to last forever. There is a saying: ‘How do you eat an elephant?’ The answer is simple: ‘One bite at a time.’ Only my bites were separated by meals: Make it to breakfast, train hard until lunch, and focus until dinner. Osama bin Laden held numerous terrorist attacks against the United States. Most of them, like the September 11, 2001, attacks, struck fear in the nation. Along with the fear it gave most people, it gave the U.S. more motivation to track down Osama bin Laden and stop his attacks from over occurring again.
