Your Motivations for Taking This Course

Why did you choose to study world issues? In your response, consider such factors as your need for this credit, your hope for a satisfying mark, the nature of the course material, or your desire to make a difference in the world.

I chose to take the world issues course as it is a university preparatory course that will allow me to further develop my skills in preparation for my upcoming change into post-secondary school. I also took this course as I have previously done well in social studies courses and need to ensure my marks are as high as possible to

Another area I could improve upon is ensuring that I re-read every piece of work I produce to ensure that there are no grammar or spelling mistakes.

a) In what non-academic activities are you involved? Consider such things as a part-time job, volunteer work, hobbies, religious involvement, music, lessons, sports teams, etc. AT school I am involved in a program called Best Buddies, as a best buddy I am paired up with a student with a mental or physical disability and we participate in events, weekly lunches and other activities to ensure that the student participates in the school community. I also participate in link leaders, a program that involves mentoring grade nines and assisting them in the transformation into high school. Outside of school I tutor a grade four twice a week, have a part-time job and babysit.

b) How many hours per week do you spend on each of these?

Typically I work twenty five to thirty hours a week at my job, tutor for two hours and babysit for about ten hours, along with hanging out with friends and participating in school related
