In one of my group’s conversations, the client said they wanted to change their bad eating habits and start eating better quality foods. To identify the intended behavior change the nurse used open ended questions, such as “What brought you in today?” Using open ended questions allowed the nurse to collect information about how the client perceived their problem and what they were thinking about.
