I believe that The School of Nursing Living-Learning Community (LLC) will be a great factor in my journey to becoming a registered nurse. My professional goal is to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Midwife. Since I was young my interest in the wonders of childbirth was evident. I love the idea of pregnancy and the process of creating a child within the female body. I would love to further my knowledge of the female reproductive system by graduating with a BSN, completing an accredited CMN program, and finally passing the national qualifying exam from the American Midwifery Certification Board earning my certification. Currently, in high school, I’ve been preparing myself for the nursing curriculum by taking the health science class that will result in me becoming a …show more content…
Academics are also a big factor that comes into play with getting into the nursing programs. LLC will keep us focused on our classes and ensure that we maintain a high GPA throughout our freshman year. For the first two years, I plan on taking the pre-requisites that I need for the nursing program. My goal is to maintain a 3.5 or higher through my freshman and sophomore year. Though it may sound hard I believe I can do it just as I have in high school. The School of Nursing Living-Learning Community (LLC) will also provide me with fruitful opportunities such as sponsored conferences, educational field trips, and getting to interact with the upper-level nursing students at FAMU. These things will help me get my foot in the door as a nursing major and allow me to get a hands-on experience in the nursing world. Without the LLC I wouldn’t be able to have such unique opportunities that will benefit my career in the long run and give me a taste of what nursing really is. Nonetheless, I believe I’m an extraordinary applicant for this housing
