Finally, in this section of Omnivores’ Dilemma, logos is seen when Michael Pollan states, “I realized… not unlike the typical American front lawn it resembles- it’s kind of ritual space, intended… as a symbolic offering to the larger community” (172-173). Pollan’s attempts to further the reader’s opinion on the lack of respect towards chickens by comparing the unused chicken lawn to that of the unused American lawn, demonstrates that America does have a food problem, as they continue to push lost ideals that do not truly abide by humane regulations on “free range chickens”.
