Personal Narrative-Green Scales

I examined my skin. For the past couple of days, little scales had been growing in painlessly. My hand ran over a clump on my upper arm. The scales were hard and I didn’t doubt if someone decided to shoot at the scales I wouldn’t be harmed at all. My little green scales were sharp at the points and I almost cut my finger open on one.

I couldn’t wait to get these scales off, the felt unnatural. They were unnatural. If you had come up to me a week ago and said to me “Kaida, you’re going to start turning into dragon after you get teleported to another dimension.” To be honest I would be calling the mental hospital the second you finished that sentence.

As the sun finished its way across the sky to take a nap, I curled up in a ball trying to cover myself in leaves. While I have been warmer since I have started turning into a dragon I could still get cold. My tiny, sensitive, stubby wings that I couldn’t fly with if I wanted to, were squashed the current way I was laying and pain shot in waves up my back. Quickly I flipped over to stop the pain and I whispered to the moon “Good Night.”

I felt as if nothing was wrong and I would be happy and content forever. Then my stomach rumbled and my nose twitched; smelling something warm and juicy. A tongue darted out of my mouth licking my scaly lips. With a sudden burst of energy my wings unfurled from my back twice the length of my whole body.
