In the book Lord of Flies, Piggy doesn't seem like a very important character to the book. He was a unique character because he looks and acts different from the others. When analyzing some of the quotes in this book I realized Piggy is a very important character to lord of the flies.
When piggy is described in the book there were some things that specifically stood out to me. Piggy wasn’t the most athletic, in shape, fit kid, but he was extremely smart "The fat boy waited to be asked his name…"( page). Surprisingly by the end of the book I still never learned Piggy's actual name. Due to the fact that Piggy wasn't in athletic shape he had asthma. “That’s right. Can’t catch my breath. I was the only boy in our school what had asthma.” (page). He had a medical condition and he was teased by the other boys for it. Ralph noticed the conch but didn't realize what it could do. Piggy then told Ralph about the noise the creamy shell was capable of making.
