Abortion is an extremely popular controversial issue. Recently, women have begun using abortion methods as a solution for their poor decisions resulting in pregnancy. Many women claim that they were not intending to become pregnant, however, if someone is choosing to have sex with another person then accidentally or not, becoming pregnant is their responsibility. Abortion is expensive, unethical, against our constitution, and ultimately murder, which should not be tolerated except in extreme cases such as rape.

The fourteenth amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”. According to the constitution, every person has the right to life, even a fetus. The mother should not have the authority to choose to murder her own child. Although the fetus is still in the womb, having heartbeat, brain, and feelings provide evidence that the fetus is alive at this point in time. Termination of a pregnancy once the fetus is alive is the same thing as murder which everyone knows to be wrong. So, what would make an abortion different and acceptable? Nothing.
Taking responsibility for actions is something that is taught every day starting around preschool. Bearing a child as a mother is a huge responsibility and should not be taken lightly. If someone is not ready to take on this responsibility than they should be taking serious measures to prevent pregnancy during sex or avoid sex completely. No one in this world should have to suffer and end their life due to another person’s inadequacy to care for them.
