The Negative of Playing Sport Sports are very popular all over the world. In the United States, sports are an important part of the country’s culture. According to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) estimated there were around 1.1 million high school players and 70,000 college football players in the United States in 2012. There are two articles that focus on this topic: “Psychological and Social Benefits of Playing True Sport” by US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and The Case Against High-School Sports” by Amanda Ripley. Playing Sports in high school is not a good experience for students because it can affect them physically, the cause of wasting money in school, and it can lead to violence in school. Amanda Ripley says to spend too much time on sports or other activities could damage the brain (5). Sports are part of risk of injury. When students use their energy to play any sports, they will suffer from progressively worsening cognitive, emotional, and physical symptoms, including erratic mood personality change, and memory loss. Students will have stress while they’re playing sports because they will think a lot about how to play well, how to win, and how to trick their opponent. Sports are usually a result of physical contact with other players or stationary objects. People who play sports can affect their brain by accident and it can be stressful for them, they also worry about their performance. It might be good to play sports, but if they have accidents, they will be in trouble. Like sometimes, you can have a disability because of sports. It might not affect them now, but it will later in
