The Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals - Fifth Edition (CELF-5) measures the language skills of individuals ages 5-0 to 21-11. The CELF-5 is comprised of seven subtests that measure an individual’s understanding of receptive and expressive language in relation to semantics, syntax, morphology, and phonology. The results from these subtests can then be combined to obtain core language composite scores. The individual subtests are described below:

Sentence Comprehension (SC):
The SC subtest evaluates an individual’s receptive semantic knowledge. The results are obtained by evaluating the individual’s ability to comprehend sentences of increasing length and complexity.
