Commutable disease is all around us, that’s why the importance of vaccines greatly affects you and your community. Although lymphocytes can fight off certain pathogens in your immune system, certain bacteria has access to your body and it cannot be fought out. Three reasons why you should be properly vaccinated are as follows: communicable diseases are easily caught if not vaccinated, prevents the risk of spreading diseases to others, and participating in some activities such as sports, attending a certain grade/school, or visiting a summer camp. Some states require by the law to be vaccinated in order to properly attend social events. Commutable diseases, also associated with infectious diseases or contagious diseases, are caused by pathogens which are microorganisms that cause diseases and infections. Commutable diseases are easily caught throughout the community and around others. Germs surround each and one of us and it’s up to you whether or not you can avoid them. If not treated properly, you have a chance of catching chicken pox, influenza, tuberculosis, common cold, pneumonia, or strep throat. Through direct contact such as kissing, touching, biting, animal bite, or sexual contact will allow you to spread the disease without you even noticing. If a woman is pregnant and they catch the disease, it will be passed down to their child through the placenta or during childbirth. Touching contaminated objects such as a shopping cart, toilet handle, or door knob can hold pathogens after an infected person touches them. Contaminated food/water can infect a person just as easily as direct contact. When food is left out without refrigeration or proper storage it gets spoiled and becomes rotten, allowing the growth of bacteria to eat itself
