Snow White and the Huntsman is a fairy tale written by Lily Blake. The novel is published by Atom in Great Britain in 2012. Snow White is king Magnus' daughter and the rightful heir of the kingdom. It's said that hers is the face of true beauty in the kingdom. Eric, who's also known as the huntsman, is a widower and drunkard. He was married to a young woman named Sara, but she died many years ago. Ravenna, also known as the evil queen, is Snow White's stepmother. When Ravenna was young, her mother cast a spell on her. With it she has the ability to steal youth and beauty from young women. She has a brother, Finn, who is faithful to her. He falls in love with her and they get married. On their wedding night, Ravenna killed the king to take the kingdom and imprisoned Snow White to the tower dungeon. Ten years later, when Snow White is 17 years old, Queen Ravenna learns from her magic mirror that Snow White was destined to destroy her unless Queen Ravenna consumes the young girl's heart, which will make her immortal. Snow White manages to escape to the Dark Forest, where Ravenna doesn't have power, and that's why Queen Ravenna makes a bargain with Eric to capture Snow White. The huntsman tracks down Snow White but instead of giving her to Ravenna, he ends up protecting her and fighting on her side against the evil queen. The huntsman and Snow White travel to Duke Hammond's castle to ask his help to end Queen Ravenna's reign. Snow White finds out that she is the only person who can defeat Ravenna and Eric teaches Snow White to become strong enough to face Ravenna and overthrow the evil queen. Snow White, the huntsman and Duke Hammond's army manage to get inside Queen Ravenna's kingdom and they start to fight against Ravenna's army. When Snow White confronts Queen Ravenna she kills Ravenna. The book ends when Snow White was crowned as …show more content…
There is Snow White, who is both hopeful and kind, and when she got the change to get her happy ending, she took it, Eric, who knows what it feels like to lose someone you love and Ravenna, who is beautiful but cold and does anything to fulfil her goals. The novel tells how Snow White has to find her own her own happy ending. The story teaches us that everyone has to find their own happy endings, and the book conveys this well. Snow White and the Huntsman is a new version of Snow White's tale. She's the only person fairer than the evil queen, who tries to destroy her so she can live forever. However, in this version the huntsman, who was ordered to kill Snow White, becomes her protector. Snow White and the Huntsman is the first book I've read in English. The book was interesting and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the book and how it was written. It was short and different from the original version of Snow White but there were also some same scenes, for example the poisoned apple. I found the novel easy to follow, but there were some words that I didn't know in Finnish, so I had to look for them from a
