The Saints had another fantastic win against Beechhill at the weekend with an impressive score line of 6-1. After the heavy rain on Friday evening the pitch had an inspection by the referee an hour before the game, to the Saints delight the pitch was deemed playable and the game went ahead. Conditions were not perfect as the rain, wind and sun all played its part in the game.

After beating Beechill last weekend and going top of the league the pressure was certainly on the Saints to deliver the win. The Saints did not disappoint. In the opening 20 minutes the Saints had all the possession forcing excellent saves from the away side’s goalkeeper, efforts from Mark Sheridan, Dylan Sweeny and Wyane Fay all produced fine saves. On the 20 minute mark, Billy O Neill headed home from an excellent corner from John O Leary. 5 Minutes later Johnny Lyons who stepped in at right full to replace the injured Jarod Flynn found Dylan Sweeny’s head from a 40 yard cross field ball,

Minutes later the away side scored from a 20yard strike from their midfielder which caught the Saints goalkeeper James Sheridan cold and ended up in the top corner of the Saints net. The Saints responded minutes later with Dylan Sweeny scoring his hatrick after some very clever play from Nicolas Moutou. Dylan is now top goal scorer for the senior Saturday team with 6 goals so far this season. The Saints always looked solid in defence, Dave Bellew and James McElvaney forming a formidable partnership that every ball is won by the two centre halfs. James Sheridan the Saints goalkeeper was a spectator with few touches in the game. Early in to the 2nd Half substitutions were made, Gaz Carr, Danny O Reilly and A.J Ryan all made a huge impact to the team bringing on fresh legs, testament to the quality of the whole
